I ordered a dessert and it was delicious. They also helped me to charge my phone, which I find it very kind. The position of this location is also a good one, you can visit a lot for attractions starting from there.

Attracted by the various food and the welcoming smile of the owner, went in and not regretted. The little shop had high-quality food, the vegetable and meat looked fresh. The raspberry cupcake was so tempting. had one and most satisfied. worth visiting and having a bite. The beautiful owner is an Armenian artist, was to open a gallery upstairs. will definitely go there again.

Amazing strawberry shortcake!! I was in the mood for dessert, and passed by this shop by chance. Everything looked fresh and yummy, decided to give it a try, and not disappointed! The staff patiently explained to me each cake/dessert, and told me the strawberry short cake is the most popular one, and it did hit my trip to Cardiff, besides the Monet paintings and the castle across street :)

An excellent cafe situated right across the road in front of the main gate of Cardiff Castle. Although it is very small in size, but has amazing things for quick bite - cakes, snacks, coffee, cupcakes, brownies, milk-shakes and ice-creams. We tried cakes and ice-creams, and would definitely recommend. They also have a few seats outside and we were lucky to get for ourselves. The staff are absolutely friendly, welcoming and fantastic. Overall, a great place !!!

What a cute little find! Situated right on the corner of High Street, it is easy to find and get to, with plenty of people watching opportunities through the upstairs and downstairs windows. The music was very chill and made you feel relaxed and forget where you need to be. The owners though very quiet are very kind and helpful. If you’re in need of a sweet injection this is a good choice for you. They offer waffles, milkshakes, ice cream along with your regular coffees. I had the simple waffle and mocha and they were delicious. The waffle, to quote Agnes from Despicable Me, was “so fluffy I’m gonna die”. The milkshake was delectable too but slightly sickly sweet so make sure you’re ready for that. They offer both inside and outside seating, but I was only able to test out the inside as the lovely Welsh weather in February was truly doing too much. The only thing that would boost this to 5 stars would be a slightly clearer menu as I had to ask about the options of waffles and toppings they offered. Highly recommend!

On the corner of High Street overlooking Cardiff Castle occupying a tiny retail space was Palette. Inside there was only a couple of tables and the counter with ice cream and cake. The selection of ice cream was petite and mainly consisted of the core flavours. The ice cream was made by a company called Joes. I’m glad we stumbled on this. I have since found out that there is whole Joe’s ice cream parlour in Cardiff. If I return then I will check it out. On this occasion, although the offering was small at Palette, they had Welsh cake flavour. This had to be tried! We sat in at one of the tables to eat the ice cream plus we also had a hot chocolate and cappuccino. The ice cream was nice and creamy with subtle chunks of raisins and cake integrated.
